A short interview with Grant Puckett

In 2014 photographer Grant Puckett tried out our Kolor film and he sent us some great pictures. He was kind enough to answer some of our questions, too.

Could you tell us a little bit about yourself and your work?

I just graduated school and within the past few months made the exciting jump into being a full time professional photographer.

Do you mostly shoot analog or switch between digital and film?

I shoot mostly analog for my personal work and whenever I can get away with it when shooting for a client.  Obviously there are times when digital is necessary and I don’t mind doing it, but film means so much more to me.

What’s your favorite photography subjects? Anything you want to tell other aspiring photographers?

I am interested in a lot of different types of photography but my subjects usually tend to revolve around girls, skateboarding, and motorcycles.  A lot of hard work and insecurities go into shooting photos. Doing it as a full time job sometimes seems damn near impossible, but if you have the drive almost anyone can do it.  The secret is that there are no shortcuts in this industry so just work, shoot, and email your ass off haha.
