“Phantasma” A series by Laurel Guido

Phantasma

Beginning with the word “phantasmagoria” as seen in the dictionary:

phantasmagoria

phan·tas·ma·go·ri·a ˌfanˌtazməˈɡôrēə/

noun

1. a shifting series of phantasms, illusions, or deceptive appearances, as in a dream.

2. a changing scene made up of many elements.

3. an optical illusion produced by a magic lantern or the like in which figures increase or diminish in size, pass into each other, dissolve, etc.

Prose:

Transparent cerulean bubbles float

Drifting over long limbs,

Disappearing as they land upon soft skin.

Glowing orbs cocoon a gentle being

Illuminating iridescent eyes,

Light bringing forth the otherworldly ethereal.

She creates kaleidoscopes with fingertips

Exhaling vibrant air,

While phantasmic bubbles float into illusion.
